AARON PEREZ

Hey everyone, my name is Aaron Perez. I am the President and creator of the PuntFactory which I established in 2014! I am also the lead National punt coach for Chris Sailer Kicking.

My story started in 2001 when I met Chris Sailer through a coach at my highschool, Charter Oak High. Chris was just beginning his business, Chris Sailer Kicking, and after one lesson he told me I had what it took to punt in college! I went on to become an all league, all CIF, all area, all state and All American punter. Chris had me ranked as the #1 punter in America, and by the end of my junior year I had over 20 scholarship offers for punting! I chose UCLA due to how close to home it was and also because of the academics, given that I was a full honors student with a 4.3 gpa!

At UCLA I started for four years after redshirting. I was able to play home games at the amazing Rose Bowl, and played in some amazing atmospheres including Autzen Stadium, Notre Dame stadium, Washington Stadium and the colosseum against Pete Carroll and USC. I even got to punt to Reggie Bush (he did nothing against me)! I finished my career with the most punts and most punting yards in UCLA history, and my career average still ranks in the top eight all time. I was named first team all Pac10 in 2008!

After UCLA, I got a tryout with the New England Patriots and signed a NFL contract and was there throughout OTAs. I did several other camps with the Dolphins and Bills, signed in the then UFL, then hung up my cleats in 2010!

During my twenties I became a personal trainer, traveled to over 15 countries, and eventually ended up playing professional soccer as a goalkeeper for four seasons! My last season was in 2016 with Minnesota United where I met my now wife, Kelly.

Throughout that whole time I was coaching local punters more and more, and was traveling to many camps with Chris. In 2014, during a lesson with Blake Cusick (current punter at Fresno State), he made a comment that I was basically turning out college level punters like a factory, hence creating the name of what is now known as the Puntfactory! That year alone I was working with Blake Maimone of Oregon, Blake Johnson (formerly of Arkansas), Blake Cusick, Brandon Hong (formerly of Johns Hopkins), and Jake Bailey of Stanford and now the New England Patriots.

In 2017 I began traveling to every single camp ran by Chris Sailer Kicking and creating a more national name for the PuntFactory. I loved getting to work with as many guys as possible all over America.

In 2018 I had my first student become a professional when Colby Wadman signed with the Denver Broncos. I was actually on the field with him when he got the call for the workout! Colby and I had been training since he was in highschool, all throughout his career at UC Davis, and 2-3x per week as he was a NFL free-agent trying to make a team. Since then two more guys I worked with have began punting in the NFL, Jake Bailey of the Patriots and most recently Jamie Gillan, aka the Scottish Hammer, with the Cleveland Browns.

My wife Kelly and I welcomed our first son, Finnley, in August 2018, and we now reside in Southern California.
